Tim Todorov
Founder & CEO, Todorov Couriers Ltd.

A Journey of Grit, Growth, and Ambition From humble beginnings to building an empire, Tim Todorov’s journey is one of relentless determination, strategic ambition, and fearless reinvention. After years of working various jobs across the globe, Tim and his wife Iva secured Canadian permanent residency in 2013. Tim’s story began with a full-time night shift as a security guard at Sears, earning just $12/hour.
Not one to settle, Tim also took on a full-time cover driver role with Cintas. Within six months, he was juggling three more part-time jobs, racking up over 120 hours a week. His hard work paid off when he achieved a lifelong milestone: buying his first house. Tim quickly rose through the ranks at Cintas, going from cover driver to inside sales account manager and ultimately leading an outside sales team.
His achievements earned him MVP honors, the #1 rep title in Canada, and #3 in the Northwestern region among 2,000 representatives. However, after being let go for what he describes as “having too expensive a car and making too much money,” Tim was hired the same day by Aramark. There, he hit the ground running, becoming one of Canada’s top senior sales reps within six months and smashing his sales quota just three months into 2020—a notoriously challenging year. Frustrated by corporate limitations, Tim decided it was time to carve his own path.
He launched his first entrepreneurial venture, an Amazon DSP franchise, and grew the fleet from 5 vans to 55 in just three months, employing over 130 drivers during peak times. After running the company successfully for two years, Tim pivoted to the equipment rental space with the launch of Todorov Rentals Ltd., later renamed Reliance Rentals Ltd. Starting with six generators rented to Canadian Rail, Tim scaled the business to an impressive 150 generators, light towers, and heaters within the first year, working with major oil, gas, and pipeline service companies. Tim and Iva took on their next adventure in 2024: launching a construction company named after their three beautiful children.
